This building is located in Constitution Square, which was a former walled Arab souk. This is where one of the most important battles of the War of the Alpujarras took place; possibly the one that changed the course of the conflict in favor of the Christians who won a great victory here.
From the balcony of the Town Hall you can contemplate the square from above, where the Fountain of 16 Pipes stands out. When going out again to the street, to the right you can contemplate the Fountain of the Jail, which was once in the inner courtyard of the building when it was used as a prison.
