Turre has 108 km² of land and is located between the banks of the Aguas river and the Sierra Cabrera. Characteristic features are the rich flora and fauna of the area, as well as geological formations that offer landscapes of great natural attraction. Numerous ruins can be seen in the municipality, which are testimony to its rich prehistoric past, particularly from the Palaeolithic and Neolithic periods. Other ancient civilizations later settled in the place, such as the Romans, the Celts, and the Argarians, who also left traces of their culture.

The origin of the population dates back to the 13th century, when a tower was erected to watch for the presence of Christian troops that constantly besieged the Nasrid kingdom.

In its architecture, one can appreciate the influence of the various cultures that have been part of its history. Monuments and buildings of a military and religious type from different periods can be seen in the town. Added to this are modern urban developments that have all the comforts and make Turre an attractive place for many immigrants from all over Europe, who are looking for a quiet place to settle.
