Castle of Saint Andrew (Carboneras - Almeria)
The Castle of Saint Andrew is located in the heart of the town, next to the Town Hall and the Andalusian Park.

It is a very solid construction built in 1559 by order of King Philip II to defend against the Berber attacks that ravaged the Mediterranean coast.

On June 22, 1993, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.

Mesa Roldan Tower

 360º    Gallery    Map
It is a lookout tower built in the 18th century with the aim of controlling possible maritime invasions between the “Punta de los muertos” and the “Punta de la media naranja”.

It is located near the Mesa Roldan Lighthouse and has a hoof-shaped construction. It was considered the most dangerous watchtower in Cabo de Gata, so its guards charged more money than others as they were involved in innumerable pirate attacks.
Like other watchtowers in the area, it is in an unfortunate state of abandonment, which has not prevented it from serving as the setting for the series Game of Thrones.

It is currently a fully automated lighthouse, offering 4 flashes every 20 seconds with a range of 23 miles (37 kilometers).

Saint Andrew Island

This is located right in front of the town and has an area of 70 hectares.

The wealth of this islet is its seabed, of volcanic origin and with a great biodiversity of marine species. Its Posidonia Oceanica meadow makes this island a fantastic destination for scuba diving and snorkelling.

It is also worth noting the presence of a multitude of birds that take advantage of the abundance of fish in the surroundings.

House of Music

This is a 19th-century manor house that has been transformed by the Carboneras City Council into a music conservatory and theatre, where all kinds of cultural performances are held.

It is listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest. Inside, we can find an Interpretation Centre with information of interest to the visitor.

It is the largest in the town and stands out for its spectacular gardens. Inside is the House of Music of Carboneras.

We can also find inside a small amphitheatre where different cultural activities take place.

Fishing Port

This small fishing and sports dock of recent construction was inaugurated by the Kings of Spain in 1991 and is home to an important fishing fleet.

It is located in the southern part of the municipality, in the area of Martinicas beach, La Puntica and the island of Saint Andrew.

Rayo Tower
