The Macenas Castle, also known as Macenas Tower, is a military building that was built during the 18th century for the surveillance of the Almeria coastline.

It was built on an earlier tower and had a capacity for two 24-pounder guns. It was accessed through a high door with a rope ladder, on the lower floor the magazine and spare parts were kept, on the intermediate floor the room and kitchen and on the roof the cannons. It was restored in the 90s, to a reasonably good standard.

On June 22, 1993, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.
