Geode of Pulpi

The Geode of Pulpi

It is one of the most interesting places in Pulpi. It is the largest geode in Europe, which was discovered in 1999, in a place known as “Pilar de Jaravia”.

The giant geode of Pulpi is the second largest in the world, with the largest being in Mexico (Naica), in a cave where the temperature reaches 50°C and has a humidity of 100%, which makes it impossible to visit.

To visit this place, one must be advised by specialized guides. The visit lasts about an hour and a half. Initially, the guides explain the entire excavation system, the wells, the counter-wells, and the ore extracted from the beginning.

It is a favourite place for adventure-loving tourists as well as amateur geologists and collectors of different minerals.
