Pedro Gea Square (Garrucha - Almeria)

Pedro Gea Square (Garrucha)

This emblematic square was remodeled in 2011 and includes the Town Hall, the Plenary Hall, the local police office and the tourism office. It has a modern architecture with a triangular fountain in the center and wooden platforms that resemble boats. In the square, the anchor that was already there before the remodeling is still preserved.

The lampposts of the square, due to their design, simulate seagulls flying over the sea, while the anchor of yesteryear that was in the previous square, and that remains in the new one, appears to be the bottom of the sea. The square is also decorated with benches that combine marble blocks and steel plates, a platform made of wood that acts as ships at sea, and a triangular fountain in the centre.
