In the region of the Almanzora Valley, a local steppe climate predominates, with temperate and arid characteristics. Moments of mild weather are noticed. This is seen with the winters being moderate and the summers being hot in the surrounding area of the Lower Almanzora. In mountainous areas, however, the winter season is quite cold.
The average annual temperature ranges between 8ºC in the highest parts of the Sierra de los Filabres, and 18ºC at the foot of the Sierra de los Filabres. With regard to rainfall, the amount is quite low: the elevations barely exceed 400 mm per year, and there is approximately 200 mm collected close to the coast.
Another key aspect of the climatological characteristics has to do with the annual sunshine hours, which reach 3,100 in the Lower Almanzora and approximately 2,600 in the Upper Almanzora.
